Halloween Popcorn
2 bags microwave popcorn, popped
1 bag candy corn
1 16-ounce package white chocolate bark
Halloween sprinkles
Wax paper
a dash of salt
Place the popped popcorn and candy corn in a very large bowl and sprinkle with salt (you need plenty of room to stir the popcorn). Melt the white chocolate bark in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each time, until melted. Drizzle over the popcorn and candy corn and stir to coat each piece of popcorn. Pour the mixture over wax paper and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with Halloween sprinkles and allow to cool for at least 15-30 minutes. Break into pieces. Serves 6-8.
white chocolate bark (or white chocolate candy coating) can be found in your grocery store on the baking aisle with the chocolate chips and nuts.
All Hallows Eve is approaching...
bippidy boppity boo
i hope you're starting to feel the magic of the season. If you're having trouble finding the spirit: turn out the lights, fire up some candles (or if you're lucky enough to still have a wood burning fireplace) start a crackling fire and cast yourself into a great movie while you carve pumpkins, roast their fresh seeds and drink spice lattes or cognac.
kid friendly suggestions: Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus, The Haunted Mansion, Beetle Juice, Casper, it's the great pumpkin charlie brown, Frankenweenie, Monster House, The Burbs, The corpse Bride, Nightmare before Christmas & Sleepy Hollow.
non kid friendly suggestion: An American Haunting (possibly one of the more disturbing documented accounts in history), Bram Stoker's Dracula, Death becomes Her, Midnight Bayou <3, The Haunted and Van Helsing.
If you know me, you know that I am a big fat chicken that really doesn't watch slasher horror movies, the kind where humans slaughter each other in sadistic and unmentionable ways.
I do however enjoy the supernatural kind, the kind that haunt you after you turn off the tv, the kind that make you bite the head off anyone asking questions during the movie, the kind that make you stare at the door frame in the dead of night praying that nothing is going to appear or jump out and make you shit the bed.
conclusion: i'm a retard that wants to live in a haunted castle. enjoy any show you want... just enjoy it with some of that addictive Halloween popcorn (recipe above)
